The Rough Rider Weekly was a short story magazine published by Street & Smith from April 23, 1904, to August 24, 1907. Selling for five cents and aimed at young readers, it offered thrilling tales set in the American West. The series featured real, live American boys navigating life on cattle ranges, bronco busting, and cattle herding. The stories provided excitement, human interest, and a glimpse into the rugged frontier. In its early issues, it was known as “Young Rough Rider Weekly”, emphasizing its fresh and up-to-date content. The pseudonym Ned Taylor covered the full series, although true authors remain unknown for many issues. The final number announced the discontinuation of the series, recommending readers turn to the ongoing adventures of Buffalo Bill in the “Buffalo Bill Stories” weekly. The Rough Rider Weekly captured the spirit of the West, showcasing the resilience and adventure of its young protagonists.
